Jakob Fros

Musician/Composer

Jakob Fros is a musician and composer working with spatial audio, sound installations, contemporary music, and film. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Design from the University of Music Trossingen and Furtwangen University.

During his internship at ZiMMT in Leipzig, he developed the “Spatial Clubbing” system, which was presented by Felix Deufel at the „Raum & Klang Conference“ and supported concerts and performances with live spatialisation, lighting, and sound technology. In this context, he worked with artists such as Steffi Narr, Lucas Gutierrez, Paul Hauptmeier, and Emika.

His work includes collaborations with Ensemble Recherche, presentations at the ArtPlus museum in Donaueschingen, and sound direction at Ensemblehaus Freiburg. He is part of the CNP Collective and has performed at Delphi Space in Freiburg. He also contributed to the soundtrack of the stop motion film “The Pursuit”, which was screened at ITFS Stuttgart, and took part in the concept development for the exhibition “YouTopia – Stadtvisionen erleben”, which received recognition at ADC 2024 and the CommAwards 2023.

Alongside his installation and spatial work, he works as a producer and offers mixing and mastering for pop and electronic music. With his band „Kubas Lounge Band“, he performs dancefloor focused live music blending Hip Hop, House and drum and bass with jazz influences.
